I have had a teacher tell him if he was her child she would strangle him.She also told him that he reminds her of her abusive mother.When I met with her she admitted to saying it, but said that he called her a name and she had a flashback and no longer saw a 14 yr old child, but rather her mother.I told her she needed to seek counseling, perhaps, but that she better not ever say anything like that to my son.She told me she said it about my son, but she said it really to his classmates, not to him, but he just overheard her.
During my sons IEP meetings I have been verbally abused, rarely heard and had a behavior specialist sit within 6 inches of me yelling in my face.I calmly told her to stop yelling at me, so she yelled louder, got up,snatched the chair from under the table and stormed out of the room,slamming the door.Now this was the behavior of the behavior specialist.Nothing was ever done about this and she was still working with my son. I had another behavior specialist that was upset because I brought an advocate with me to the next IEP meeting, tell me son wait until he tells his mother and her so-called advocate that he was eating candy.The issue there is, I am the adult with the advocate to assist and witness the IEP meetings.My son is a disabled child that knows nothing about an advocate, but yet he denied saying it.After I questioned him about it and told him to refer all of his adult conversations to me “the adult”, I walked away because he became loud.I went to the office to speak to someone, but no one would speak to me.My sons entire school experience has been a disaster for all of us.He only has 4 years left and actually 2 if they still attempt to prompt behaviors that will allow them to place him.
