I remembered fondly
Before time moved on
Emotions that caressed me
Like the supple summer breeze
The harshness of our winter
Did not creep in today
Only the beautiful colours of our fall
This blanketed my heart, waiting for spring
Those days seem so long ago
I thought they’d never end
Perpetual misery
Now they are but a whisper
Everything I thought I knew
Today, has been replaced
Moving beyond who I was
To become who I need to be
