I met John at Amos House working his way through the program.
In a way just like most there, he was trying to put his life back together.
Through talking to him I found an interesting person with a story and a talent for drawing.
John grew up in the Bahamas and went to school at St. Mary’s of the Bay, from which he graduated with high honors. He began attending business school one year prior to moving to Rhode Island with his father. At age 22 John and his father began buying burnt out and condemned houses to rebuild for low-income housing. John has five children
and he lives in Providence.
John began drawing at the age of 5. He was taught to draw by his brothers, and he has been drawing for the love of art for most of his life.
